Deliver

Deliver

Clients have the choice to take receipt of equipment ex-works, or ex-depot or have their equipment delivered to a specified location. Rigtrans can arrange all logistics requirements, including identifying the most suitable form of delivery, arranging all documentation, interfacing with clients’ own freight forwarders and, if required, lashing and nesting units to minimise transportation costs.

By linking liner shipping or heavy lift vessels with overland intermodal carriers, door to door delivery can be achieved in the most efficient way. All Rigtrans own designs of offshore 10ft, 20ft and 40ft units are not only fully DNV compliant but they are also built to ISO specifications allowing them to be delivered by containership – a major cost saving over utilising other types of vessel. Where the order permits, smaller units are loaded within larger units in a Russian Doll style format to maximise delivery efficiency.

When Rigtrans equipment is designed, we take into account not only its usefulness and its compliance with international certification, but how will it be delivered to where it is required. By considering design options which minimise delivery cost, considerable savings in transportation cost can be made. These savings not only benefit the owner/operator when the initial deployment is effected but they go on saving cost during the equipment’s lifetime by drastica lly reducing repositioning cost if equipment is redeployed from one area of operation to another.

When ISO shipping containers are supplied, if the client requires delivery, Rigtrans works with major shipping lines or freight forwarders to source third party cargo in order to reposition the containers with the minimum of cost. In most cases, the shipping line or freight forwarder or their clients pay all the expenses of the journey up to and including emptying of the cargo and final delivery to Rigtrans’ customer’s depot or the most suitable common user facility. All details are agreed between all parties in advance and the process is monitored by Rigtrans. Such an operation is not always possible especially on less popular routes but we will always try to limit the cost of delivery.”
