Rigtrans now has available new 10ft Dry Goods units for lease or purchase in Rotterdam. Please see here a selection of photos which show the overall design. Full specifications and documentation can be provided. The units are designed, built and certified to DNV 2.7-1 standards. They are also ISO1496/CSC approved. Sling sets are included as are side to side connectors enabling a pair of units to be transported as a 20ft ISO container.

We specialise in supplying containerised workshops, rigging lofts, dog houses and accommodation modules. All units are built to DNV 2.7-1/2/3 certification and other internationally recognised standards. Used 20ft Half Heights have arrived in Rotterdam

Used 20ft Half Heights have arrived in Rotterdam

Rigtrans now has a stock of used 20ft Half Heights available in Rotterdam. The units are in good condition having been lightly worked. Whilst the units are factory built to carry roof bows and tarpaulins, the CCUs are offered without them. These accessories can be provided, if they are required. All units are certified to DNV 2.7-1, EN12079 and ISO 1496/CSC. A full documentation pack will be provided for each unit. Sling sets are not included.

The accompanying photos, which were taken recently, show the current condition of the units. The specification includes a pair of end doors to one end and a pair of fork lift pockets at 2,080mm centres. With suitable interconnectors, the units can be stacked two high so that they can be shipped as an 20ft ISO module. See the photo below of how these can be relocated between operating areas loading four units to a 40ft trailer. This configuration is compatible when delivering the units by container ship.

Two weight options are available – 16.5 tonnes and 24 tonnes, maximum gross weight.

New Offshore Equipment available ex-works

Rigtrans and SHPI offer a stock of new CCUs available for purchase. The units are located at the factory in Jiangmen, Guangdong Province, China. Some units have been built and painted to undercoat standard allowing buyers to choose a top coat colour scheme. Some models have been fully painted in a popular top coat colour. Our listing shows details of the two options. The modules which form the base units for workshops, rigging lofts and dog houses have been built to the shell format only.

Used CCUs for sale in Europe

Rigtrans has a stock of good condition used CCUs which are available for purchase in Europe. The majority of units comprise 20ft Dry Goods units and 20ft Open Tops. We also have available 20ft High Cube Dry Goods and 10ft Half Height Open Tops. All units are certified to DNV2.7-1 and ISO1496/CSC. We will shortly have available about 40 non ISO units comprising minis and baskets of various specifications. These will all be DNV rated. A full documentation pack will be provided for each unit.

HDG is very much in fashion

Over the past fifteen months we have noticed a growing trend for clients to order equipment with a Hot Dipped Galvanized finish. For many years there have been aficionados of this corrosion resistant surface, however, the number of operators or lessors of such a style of unit were comparatively limited. Also, the types of equipment ordered in this fashion were restricted to cargo baskets and basic types of CCU. During recent months we have seen a rapid expansion of models ordered in HDG finish including boat shaped skips, IBC carriers, gas bottle racks, workshops and rigging lofts.

Some customers have introduced a policy that all new orders will be HDG. Geographically, a high percentage of US Gulf based clients have shown a preference for an HDG finish but the trend has expanded worldwide. For many years branding required an operator/rental company to create a style based largely on a fleet colour scheme. Many customers have wanted to use a unique image to distinguish themselves from the market in general. The current trend seems to prefer to concentrate on the projected savings to be made from operating a low maintenance fleet as opposed to presenting an easily identifiable brand. Most buyers still prefer units to be delivered in a high quality marine paint system, including NORSOK specification, but the trend to move to HDG is increasing.

As well as building equipment coated with the best marine paints available, Rigtrans and SHPI offer a full range of unit types finished in HDG coating. We achieve a fast turn around and we welcome all enquiries.

Rigtrans Intermodal Limited will be exhibiting at ADIPEC 2019 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center (ADNEC) Abu Dhabi, UAE from November 11 – 14, 2019 and we welcome all to our stand. We will be based on the UK Pavilion, organised by EIC - stand 8452. Rigtrans will feature Cargo Carrying Units, Baskets, Containers, Rigging Lofts, Workshops and Modules featuring equipment built in cooperation with our friends at SHPI. SHPI has a wealth of experience in the design and manufacture of offshore transportation and storage equipment and these skills complement the Rigtrans offering. Senior management from SHPI will be available to discuss your requirements and walk you through any specification you wish to discuss.

Rigtrans’ team will be led by Paul Barry, Managing Director, and we will be launching a number of new models with emphasis on designs which make for efficient delivery of equipment from the manufacturer to the place of first deployment and the cost effective relocation of inventory between areas of operation throughout the equipment’s projected lifespan. Paul said “In times when profit margins are under intense pressure, designing equipment which reduces positioning costs for the full life cycle of the inventory, makes for an attractive investment proposition in its own right.
